Barbie Is Getting a Makeover to Make Her Appealing to Chinese Moms

They’ve made Barbie dolls to emulate what they think the parents want their daughters to grow up to be. One of those is “Violin Soloist” Barbie, who looks just like a normal Barbie in a hot pink dress from the 1980s, but she comes with a violin, bow, and sheet music. = = Hurricane Vanessa

Where do all the violin-playing Chinese girls go when they grow up? By now there should be hundreds of square miles of Chinese females sawing away like mad, but they just seem to disappear. What happens to the violins?
