Barack Obama is not scheduled to be present at Gettysburg on Tuesday

to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the address. Maybe he figured that the world would little note, nor long remember, what he said there. Maybe he thought the comparisons with the original were bound to be invidious, and rightly so. Bret Stephens: From 'Four Score' to 'Yes We Can!'

His presence on this sacred ground would be an abomination.

This would have been his first appearance, since the rollout of Obamapain, before a crowd that he couldn't be tailored just for him, a crowd that wasn't hand picked to consist of fellow Domestic Enemies, wouldn't it?

It would be funny if all his public appearances from now until he leaves office were before groups of nothing but supporters selected beforehand.

I suspect that yes, he doesn't care to appear publicly right now, at least not in a place that can't be controlled and guaranteed to be friendly.

Plus, Lincoln was a white Republican.

Lincoln was a radical. That is what Republicans were. At least he wrote his own speeches.

All things considered, let us be happy to see The One avoiding any public ceremony.

I am greatly pleased that Obama will not be sullying those sacred grounds by his presence there. Obama is not worthy to hold Lincoln's hat, much less try to spout something meaningful on such a solemn occasion.

Does this surprise anyone ?
This is who and what the Left is.
It wouldn't have been a good optic for him.

Also he wouldn't want to be "Ford Theater'd".

You won't see him near any grassy knolls either.

Shucks.
