My money is on 'spite and malice.'

It’s an open question whether the cartwheels that American diplomacy is performing in the region are intentional or simply the result of incompetence and ignorance.

The administration has been reluctant to admit any mistakes. The latest disasters will be spun as simply the result of a video or the subtle machinations of a policy too brilliant for anyone but the President to understand.... As I wrote in an earlier post, Obama’s blunders are approaching the tipping point. He will smash something big soon at the rate he is going. “Playing with fire” was the phrase an Israeli official used. Somebody’s going to get burned. The only question is when. Your Say

He's already destroyed the idea of protecting American diplomats at all cost. The many outrages to come will only follow from his and Hillary's "smashing" example of appeasement at Benghazi.

Follow the money.

Spite and malice scrambling to cover depthless incompetence.

"Follow the money"

Usually that's the wat I'd bet as well but when you're dealing with someone as incompetent and inept as the Nincompoop-in-Chief it's hard to know if that's valid here.

I am not a big fan of coincidence. His actions follow Alinsky tactics and Cloward-Piven strategies. If this is all happening by a random confluence I am not comforted. If it is happening as premeditated I am not comforted either.

Level II conspiracy theory has OB as the beard, the front-puppet for more sinister forces at work to bring our country down.

The Bilderberg Group exists and I am sure there are global financial cartels but I do not wear a tin foil hat and I don't buy into the classic conspiracy theories involving the Catholic Church, General Motors, Freemasons, so forth. Heck, it could be the work of space aliens or the Book of Revelation or the infinite monkeys and typewriters, Result is the same, one way or another our nation is tanking.

Maybe it is as simple as this: Russia wants to bury us, China wants its money, Muslims want our heads on pikes.

My money is more on a great ignorance and a very warped worldview combined with a towering arrogance. Its how we got the "health care" bill; he needed something to talk about and brought up this turkey, then started pushing it as if it were genius without even having a clue about what he was arguing.

There are few more destructive things than ignorance tied to arrogance. You don't even have to have good OR bad intentions, just the presumption that everything you do is not only right but the best possible course.

Chris, that POV is certainly more optimistic. It means the situation can be fixed. Get rid of OB and his sycophantic crew and the problem is abated. A good management team will undo the damage done and we sail happily on. I like it, but my cynicism hinders me from totally embracing that view. As I get older (I'm 66 now) I pay more heed to the evidence and less to the arguments.

Sigh, I keep telling myself that Fear and Faith cannot both occupy my mind. I am not the kind of guy, running scared, so I have to do more work on the Faith part.
