Euthanasia will be covered, but under obamacare the cost is prohibitive for all but the wealthiest. Cheaper to fly to Belguim.

If you read the linked articles, you'll see that this is a very sad case. It highlights the problem of how to classify "transgender;" is it a psychological neurosis; a dismorphia---or is it a legitimate and otherwise healthy variation in human sexuality? I think it can be either. In this instance, a girlchild was born to shitbird parents. The mother admits that she rejected her from the very beginning, for being a girl, and says that the euthanisia of her child "means nothing to me." Not surprisingly, this child grew up to think that she should be a man. When transgender surgery did not relieve her pain, she asked to be euthanized...and the Belgian law obliged her. A child who should have been loved was tormented instead, and this is the result.

@RigelDog: To clarify your question: Transgenderism is a psychological problem, nothing healthy about it. Same thing goes for homosexuality and the rest of the alphabet soup. Yes, there is a sadness to any life story that ends so badly. In a sane world, intervention would have taken place when she expressed her fantasy of changing her gender. Even better would have been if she could have been given over to foster parents when her shitty parents realized that they didn't want a daughter.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
