So Facebook will know I'm a curmudgeonly old right wing bastard who rides in a bicycle gang. And I sometimes click links with sexy chicks in them. What are they gonna' do? Tell my wife?

I see a future in front end programs that block all that data from Facebook and other sites such as Amazon and Google.

Christopher, apparently you would pay for something you can do for free. BTW google and facebook are embedded into most websites. Those text boxes where you enter a word and a number? That is a google product.

Potsie: didn't know that, although I am not surprised. Heck, they're floating barges off the Cali coast and that's just some of the stuff we see. Me and the missus, we got modest cable TV and I reckon they know how many times we watch NCIS and hmm, why don't these folks watch Dancing with the Goofballs? It is very hard if not impossible to stay off the radar. Spies and some crims do it but what kind of life is that? We all ain't James Bond with endless financing and so forth. Witness Protection Program my arse. Nobody. Is. Invisible.

Potsie I don't want Facebook expunged from my computer, I just want to stop it from spying the way they like to.

A good starting point is: Ghostery, Adblock Plus, and NoScript addons for Firefox.
Search through Startpage via proxy.
If ya don't want mommy dearest to know your liberty-minded shit, keep it to yourself or only 'plot' face-to-face with people who've earned your trust.
Don't willingly give the fuckers that be ANYTHING but grief and misinformation to muck up their infernal machine.
Garbage in ---> garbage out.
