What is that?

How many Maggie's readers know what the triangle to the left of the gas pump symbol means?

I've never owned a car with one of those

Location of gas tank fill door.

I really can not believe people don't know what that arrow is for... then again I can not believe people voted for Obama.

As someone who rents cars fairly often, that little triangle is a nice thing to have.

/me guesses: a little light that comes on when the EPA has mandated too much ethanol in your gasoline?

Man, that's a no brainer....

It means that there is a gas pump on the left.

I learned this a loooong time ago when I became a frequent business travleor/car renter. Also handy when in the wife's car.

It's for people who can't remember which side the filler cap is on. And some of us are smart enough to walk around any car we rent. So we know where the cap is. And that the rental company isn't trying to stick us with the damage the last renter did.

Rented a sweet Mustang convertible earlier this year and could not find the lever to release the filler door. Exasperated, I gave the door a push and it popped right open.

Funny thing is that its not on all units of a the same model. the only place I've seen them consistently are on rental cars...

Gas pump? Really that's a gas pump symbol? Oh, er, I thought it had to do with the turbo encabulator. The triangle, that's easy. It means that the system is either on or off.

The arrow obviously informs the driver that the polyphase reactive component compensator is outside somewhere.

I've seen plenty of people who don't know what it's for. The puzzled look, the quick u-turn at the pump, or just saying "to hell with it" and reaching the hose over the trunk, paint job be damned. It amazes me how much people don't notice in their lives.

The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive
a 25 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My
iPad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is completely off topic but
I had to share it with someone!
