"Viable:" The Buckley Rule

“National Review will support the rightwardmost viable candidate.”
In other words, the key word in Buckley’s original rule was the word “viable” — not the word “electable.” The word “electable” was in fact not in the Buckley Rule at all. The American Spectator : Ted Cruz Extends the Buckley Rule

Your Say

Lazy CINOs (citizens in name only) will dutifully wait for someone to appear on Fox News and announce the GOP candidate most likely to preserve the feckless nature of the party as "electable" and "viable." Then they will repeat like mockingbirds one sentence about each other candidate as if that sentence/excuse justifies backing the pale and weak horse selected by The Ruling Class. No, the people that followed this tired protocol with McCain and then Romney, will not learn from those errors. No, they will not think Mr Grey is an exact replay of the failed protocol. This time it's different.

Our side is desperately and deliberately trying to avoid all conflict. They will believe any fairy tale that promise we can do a few small things in the background and around the edges and trick the system into working for us. The people that think this way and follow this protocol are sacrificing the country for their own comfort as certainly as the commielibs are wrecking this country to achieve some inner peace. KNOW YOU ENEMY.

When you live most of the year in DC and not your home state, you end up representing your social group.
We need term limits and citizen politicians whose main job is not being a politician .
Buckley's son Christopher promoted and voted for Obama. (Reagan's kids (except adopted Michael) likewise) Ted Tunrer's father was conservative.
Look at John McCain. It is like watching a Manchurian Candidate. "He was a POW from '67-73" , so he is fit to lead us forever.

If we are to assume the meaning of viable as "able to exist outside the womb", (however there are other definations--Merriam Webster), then most of our elected politicians are not viable as they could not exist outside the womb of Washington.
