Early theory:

Well planned and executed attack against a military target inside of the nation’s capital.

Bold statement. Underestimating or trivializing the motives of the attackers will be to our detriment. This is a major security breach inside of DC. The planning necessary to carry out this attack likely took several months, especially to learn the routines of the police, site security, and working personnel. Your Say

I doubt its anything remotely that complex. All it took was a pass and a uniform. Its not like they broke into Camp David or anything.

I'm sure the casualties would have been much greater if it hadn't been for that timely warning from NSA.

Obviously the answer is bigger government, more security, and less freedom.

That guy's been watching too many Hollywood movies. This wasn't the Mission Impossible team. Guy walked up to the gate and blasted his way in and started shooting people wherever he could find them.

After seeing photos of the suspect, I believe he could've been obama's son.

I'm worried about the media plays, now. At CT there was a lot of radical change in the facts as it un-looped, and the thing @ this shooting, as the reports now stand, is that it was a small group of operators.
It's bad that we have this one guy to over-focus on, because he is right now in media perception a screwball, disgruntled, non-white vet with PTSD and a minor gun-offense record. Plenty there to demonize, and precious little to help us root out the motives of a gang of shooters.
Reminds me of the Bombay terrorist hit.
Of course, I am such a nuckle-head! Tomorrow there won't be any group of perps, and guns will be the target, along with all American men who own a gun.
My first, over-thought estimate? A small group of shooters, on a navy base in DC, and at the time of trouble with Syria, Iran and Russia. Ever hear of the Spetsnaz?

I'll bet the War on Unnamed Enemies would be a lot further along had UA93 reached its target. Our only hope is that circumstances conspire such that saving America is an unintended consequence of the DC Elites saving their sorry rear ends.
