The Pope's New Car is a 29-Year Old Beater Pope Francis has a new car. Or, rather, a new-to-him car. Renzo Zocca, an Italian parish priest, offered his 1984 Renault with 186,000 miles.... Pope Francis plans to drive the car himself. [ Neatorama ]

Your Say

Frances is a Pharisee and a heretic. Maybe the Medieval superstition about the last pope will prove to be true.

bob, can you elaborate?

Anyone who learned to drive in Buenos Aires will feel right at home driving an old Renault in Rome.

@tripletap A quick search for "Pope Francis heresy" will provide more elaboration than you will be able to read in a day.

A man walked up to a Franciscan and a Jesuit and wondered, "How many novenas must you say to get a Mercedes-Benz?"
The Franciscan asked, "What's a Mercedes-Benz?"
The Jesuit asked, "What's a novena?"

Dear tripletap,

First, Jesus condemned the Pharisees and Scribes whose attendance at services was marred by ostenstation and show. And that is Frances in spades. For him its all about look at me, how special I am. How good I am.

Second, Jesus ( and Paul) Plainly state that faith in Jesus is a precondition for salvation. Frances has expliciltly denied this. He has stated that one can get into heaven by good works alone. This has always been condemned by the Church as heresy.

Third, there is a medieval prophecy/superstition that there will be a last pope, and Frances seems fit the description given. You'll have to surf to get the details.

I am a lapsed Catholic, but most of my family and inlaws are practicing Catholics. So, there has always been asort of gravitational attraction drawing me to return. I was an admirer of John Paul and benedict, but Frances is the first pope I despise. There is no chance of my return while he lives.

Once Rome quit persecuting Christians and started adopting them Jesus went straight into the crapper.
