Wikipedia's Worst Case Scenario

Alert the galaxy! Because Here Comes Honey Boo Boo - Wikipedia

In the course of the deliberations of the Wikipedia Data Preservation Taskforce, it was realized that although many catastrophes would be survivable, the possibility had to be faced that an extinction level event was possible, albeit unlikely, and plans should be initiated to preserve the encyclopedia in a non-terrestrial environment.
To this end, Wikimedia has come to arrangements with many of the world's scientific institutions for the provision of access to the vast majority of the world's radio telescopes. It is already the practice of the encyclopedia to create a database dump, a record of the data from the Wikipedia database, on a regular basis. This data is compressed using the highly efficient Honda-Beech data compression method, which compresses the data by a ratio of up to 1,000,000:1. If it is deemed to be probable that an extinction level event will occur shortly, this data shall be transmitted from the world's radio telescopes to the 300 nearest stars and to the centre of the galaxy for as long as possible.... The message will be accompanied by a short video message by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, and images required for the re-creation of fundraiser banners.Wikipedia:Terminal Event Management Policy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your Say

An extinction even would at least KILL the odious Wikipedia "editors" with their ideologically-inspired penchant for censoring or blocking content they don't like.

That oughta keep the alien invaders out there where they belong.

Don - If you think Wikipedia do a lot of that, take a look at Conservapedia.
