"Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand."

sower1.jpg

Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Sort of on the same subject:

The parable of the workers.

It's really all just a chemical thing in the brain.

Too true.
I don't understand the Matthew 20 reference other than that "few are chosen". I think instead that few can understand what they see and hear.
I always respond to 1Corinthians 13. In this case it reminded me of verses 9-13.9 For our knowledge is fragmentary and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). " When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; now that I have become a man, I am done with childish ways and have put them aside.12 For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim reflection ....."

Grace,

Yes, a slender connection. What triggered me was the sowers. I got to wandering in my meditations and arrived at ... Christ doesn't depend upon the calendar or time clock. It is about diligence of heart, acting as a chosen one from the time you start (early or late).

This self-sufficiency thing really is amazing. We sow the seed, right. Nature grows the seed, and then, we eat the seed. And then, after that, we sow the seed, nature grows the seed, and then, we eat the seed. And then, after that again, we sow the seed, nature grows the seed...

Thanks for the thought Chasmatic. Some days it is hard to be diligent, but always rewarding.

I sent your August 26 thoughts to my son at A & M.
I laughed out loud .
He told me recently when I asked him "if he was listening to my pearls of wisdom " that he just looks into my eyes, smiles, and waits for me to stop talking."

Grace,

People of faith have a logical idea of what life is all about.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
