"The term that stabs is 'equal opportunity.' "

The rich & poor had always lived together, everywhere else in the world.
One might argue that America’s chief export has been “the gated community,” at the crown of a system of segregation or “apartness”; of by-laws enforcing neighborhood by class. It works with retailing by market stratum, & “lifestyle” advertising to postal location; everyone within a given neighborhood having tastes & wants much the same. By increments we have become a continent gerrymandered for “democracy” — for the purposes of mass marketing, & mass politics, also much the same. David Warren, The dead motor

There is an old saying, taught to me by my grandmother:
Birds of a feather flock together
And so do pigs and swine.
Ducks and geese will have their choice
And so will I have mine.

Freedom of association will always lead to people choosing to associate with those who share their values.

Want to see freedom of association in action? Walk into any college student union. You will see how they group themselves. Each will have his/her choice.
