The “New Electorate Project” is going to flop.
Yes, the “legalization” will be huge on paper, but I doubt most of those people intend to live here – they just want to file for social security/disability. This of course means those systems crash fast. (They’re already on the verge of crashing.) Part of the “importing a new electorate” project assumes that the blue model goes on forever, and that payments are secure and unlimited. It ain’t so. If you like Detroit you will love the future. If you don't have guns and ammo you are a chump. Whatever it will cost you to defend yourself, if that day arrives and you have not prepared, you will gladly pay 10 times that amount, but to no avail.
Get a shotgun, pistol, AR-15 or AK-47 rifle. If you know your neighbors and trust them, you might plan on having same caliber weapons so you can share ammo. The US has already promised to give people more money than exists on the entire planet. The more moochers we add the faster it all goes Tango Uniform.
