On Closed Embassies, the Worldwide Travel Alert, and Wimpitude

It'll be a happy day when American embassies are again built in busy downtown intersections out of normal materials

- and not, as they are now, bunkers located in distant lots surrounded by high fences. Such a change will only be possible when the safety of Americans depends not on walls, metal detectors and Marine guards, but on the deterrence established by years of terrible retribution against anyone who so much as harms a single American citizen. :: Daniel Pipes

Your Say

SEE!! SEE!! The NSA spying on the citizens is IMPORTANT! If they didn't spy on us we wouldn't know something bad was going to happen. Snowden is BAD!... Manning is BAD! Loss of privacy is good it protects us!

Barking mad, you are right!

Using our military and intel resources to go after our enemies instead of us? The current administration might see a problem with that concept, but I don't. While we're at it, closing 21 of our posts down for a week because we're scurred of Al Qaeda goes beyond unworthy and humiliating to defeating the entire point of building said posts like fortresses in the first place.

These days its hard to believe terror alerts. Convenient that at the height of the yelling about the NSA we get an alert about how the NSA found a big time threat and congressmen are all over on morning shows talking about it?

Wag the dog! If I were al Qaida and knew what the NSA and CIA are up to, I would be sending out "traffic" that would cause the likes of Susan Rice to get her panties in a twist. "Oh noes, another Benghazi. Well we'll show 'em. We'll just close up shop." Yep, that's the ticket. Shelter in place. Hunker down. Be invisible. Don't show them the whites of our eyes.

In the meantime, in the middle of this "crisis," our President is partying hearty at Camp David. Oh, don't worry, Susan Rice and General Dempsey are keeping him fully informed. He's on top of it, totally concentrated on creating more good paying jobs....ah, er, strike that. Protecting our valiant people in far flung outposts.

If I were al Qaida, next month I would send out some more false flag, wag the dog "traffic" and laugh till my sides split as the hunker down, don't take any risks, can't name the enemy leadership makes fools of themselves again.

It's a bit like the black-hatted gunman in the old west making the town drunk dance because he can. Quite a spectacle, no?

Christopher & Jimmy - You're probably both right. The only question is whether al Qaida is doing this on its own, or whether the CIA plants got them to do it to provide cover for O. and Susie.
