Obama in Hoc

aaadixieputz.jpg

It's either Post hoc ergo propter hoc, or cum hoc ergo propter hoc: Dent Barack Obama says he has decided that the United States
should take military action against Syria in response to a deadly chemical weapons attack. But Putz says he will seek congressional authorization for the use of force. He says congressional leadership plans to hold a debate and a vote as soon as Congress comes back in September. [Constitutional scholar and serial prevaricator ] says he has the authority to act on his own, but believes it is important for the country to have a debate. News from The Associated Press

Thus it would seem that the DemProgs are still stuck in the endless theater of the absurd loop called "Waiting for Bartlett"

One of my first reactions to Obama's remarks today was whether Obama setting up two-prong Constitutional crisis. It depends how you parse his remarks, which is always a challenge.

But what if this is the news report shortly after Congress votes?

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Sept. 11, 2013. President Obama's request for authorization to carry out air strikes against Syria failed to be approved in the Congress today.

In a short statement following the 275-260 vote to deny his request, President Obama said, "The vote will not stop the necessity of punishing the Assad regime for using chemical weapons to slaughter its own people. As I said in the Rose Garden on August 31, I I have the authority to carry out this military action without Congressional authorization. I am therefore ordering US forces to proceed with the attacks."

I explore this here.

O. proves once more he has the convictions of his courage. (i.e. none of either)

Not for the first time, I'm thinking the Dems should have gotten Martin Sheen to run. It's not like he is or could be any more of a screw-up than the guys they've actually run, certainly not the incumbent.

Biden has a good point here. From now on as an affectionate nickname for Obama we should all call him "putts." You know. For his golfing.
