"Er... I plead 'Guilty with an explanation...." [Bumped]

Manning emailed his military therapist the photo with a letter titled, 'My problem'

Transgendering made s/he do it: Army releases photo of Bradley Manning dressed as a woman that he emailed to his therapist - as the private takes stand to apologize for leaking documents to WikiLeaks
On the same day that Bradley Manning finally took to the stand and apologized for leaking hundreds of thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks - the army he betrayed released a picture of the troubled soldier wearing a blond wig, makeup and lipstick. He addressed the court after a day of testimony about his troubled childhood in Oklahoma and the extreme psychological pressure that experts said he felt in the 'hyper-masculine' military because of his gender-identity disorder — his feeling that he was a woman trapped in a man's body.

Why Manning was let within a country mile of classified material continues to be the biggest mystery of this tragi-comic case.

Your Say

Why Manning was let within a country mile of classified material continues to be the biggest mystery of this tragi-comic case.

He's a product of our times, as are Snowden and Assange. They are all what our current "leadership" and "establishment" were at the same age. The difference is that, when Obama and the Clintons and the Holders, and whatnot were that age, there was still integrity in the nations' institutions and communities to keep them in check. That is no longer the case. The only comfort that can be drawn from this is that the younger leftoid brats are embarrasing and vexing their like-minded elders.

Manning, Snowden, Assange, the Ft. Hood jihadist, etc. all on the same team. The sooner the doors of Leavenworth close behind him, the sooner the healing can begin. In a few years hopefully, the real hunt for the thousands of other sleepers can begin in earnest.

An Army of One....yeah one jacked up deviant booty bandit with his hands on classified material. Where's George Patton when we need him to slap this little princess into next Thursday?

There must be at least several thousand 'transgendered' people in the military, and they didn't turn out to be TRAITORS.

As Don Rodrigo implies, this case says more about present leadership than about the culprit. Same with the Ft. Hood case.

Wait, therapist? I thought a man claiming that he's actually a woman trapped in a man's body was normal, and he/she should be able to use the bathroom of his/her choice. Anybody who thinks otherwise is the one with the mental disorder. Isn't that the new normal?

And the only people who need therapy are those raving lunatics who believe in ridiculous things like God, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, limited government, etc.

I'm soooo confused.

His defense was written by Tammy Wynette.

"Sometimes it's hard to be a woman......"

Will must be one of those people that secret loves big government.

I don't see how feeling pressured by a male-dominated environment leads in any way to a person purloining thousands of classified documents and giving them to our adversaries. And I'm glad the court saw it that way too.

But setting that aside, I'm sure all the transgendered, cross-dressing, or otherwise sexually confused doobs in the military, of which Smokey tells us there are many, must be enraged that Manning is saying that they are all unstable, untrustworthy, security risks. I'm waiting for the denouncements of Manning from the Left. .... Anyone there?

Or maybe he was faking it. Although nowadays, Klinger's main problem would be getting people to say it was a psychological problem, instead of affirming his okayness.

Posted by: Suburbanbanshee at August 19, 2013 9:10 PM

Once upon a time, sexual deviants were denied clearances because we understood the fundamental truth that they lead twisted lives of deceit. We also understood the differences between men and women, but that's all by the boards. We now pay them the same for a fraction of the work.

He oughta be horse-whipped and pissed on.

So say we all.

Posted by: chasmatic at August 20, 2013 5:56 AM

I'd hit that. With brass knuckles.

Horse-whipped and pissed on? Why should he get all that pleasure?

Posted by: Ba-duum-tish at August 20, 2013 9:11 AM

Certainly Manning deserves punishment for leaking classified documents. I doubt he's a traitor though. The more interesting aspect of this post is that it is in a long line of similar gay/transgender articles that Mr. Vanderleun has linked recently. One or two would count as random. But this many?

And then there is the fact that Mr. Vanderleun has chosen to live in a predominantly single, upper class neighborhood in Seattle, the Queen Anne Hill enclave, which has a very high gay demographic. Like the "Independent Conservative" Michael Savage who is based out of San Francisco and lives in liberal Marin County, Mr. Vanderleun chooses to rub elbows with the very people he belittles. Strange. But maybe not so strange in this case. It is almost as though he is forced to constantly expose those gays who fall on their faces while ignoring those who achieve greatness.

We are all human, Gerard. Good, bad, mediocre, and, rarely, brilliantly talented.

You are thinking of Capitol Hill, Frank. QA is well down on the gay demographic scale. It's one of my rare and brilliant talents to know that.

Haw Haw!

Does the USDB count as "federal pound-you-in-the-ass prison"? And keep in mind, Brad probably would consider that a feature, not a bug.

Posted by: Rich Fader at August 20, 2013 10:19 PM

When is Manning being presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom? Is is on the same date as Nidal Hassan?

Posted by: Scott M at August 21, 2013 12:51 AM

Frank? You insult the man on his own website?

you talk like a sausage.
