Or just get a Remington 870. Not much novelty value, but a 4+1 capacity, ironclad reliability, and a $350 price tag. What's not to like?

Bill, the link to the Austrian hunting guns site is "ganz gebroken". Got an alternative site?

Germany, and others used to make something called the Drilling. It was a three barred gun, usually 12 or 20 GA, a rifle caliber barrel, and a .22 cal barrel. I think you can buy a Colt Drilling from Europe for about $ 5,000 US. One gun for squirrels, fowl, and boar.

You call that a gun?

Now this is a gun, 14 rounds of 12 gauge in a short package.

Why carry the extra weight of a barrel when rapid firing and extra shells are the objective. Agree Remington 870 is the solution unless you want to hang on the mantle as a conversation piece.

"Why carry the extra weight of a barrel when rapid firing and extra shells are the objective."

Well, there is the stare down the barrel, barrel, barrel factor.
