Your Say

First thing I did was turn off all the new google tabs. Please, I hope I don't have to read posts of people telling me they don't use google. These posts always make me laugh because the have no clue how google is tied into so much of the web in various ways. You use Google, you just don't know it. BTW Youtube is owned by google as well as many, many web services.

Our police have long sense become militarized, if you aren't do anything wrong you have everything to fear. There are daily stories about horrible police raids. The only time the police act decently is when they are arresting big name people. Hernandez the football player/alleged murder was arrested by police officers in suits knocking on his door. Whitey Bugler was calmly arrested outside after police lured him out. However you the common citizen will have your door busted down, flash grenades thrown, your dog shot at 3am only to find out the police had the wrong address, oh and they are sorry, only doing their job.

A great power "strip" is the squid or octopus surge protector. The main unit has no plus but the extensions/pig tails are hard wired to the main unit.

As a former pilot this youtube clip of KAL landing at the old Hong Kong Kai Tak is my favorite. It shows lot's of skill. Keep in mind the #1 engine, farthest left engine, is inches above the runway. The F-18 carrier trap in a sand storm makes the other landings look like tiddly winks, though.

I remember Kai Tak well. Even for passengers like me, every approach was...interesting. You seemed to thread your way through the apartment buildings surrounding the airport, and more than once I wondered if we were going to snag some lady's laundry. The "new" Hong Kong airport (Chek Lap Kok) is probably much easier on the pilots as well as less deafening to the few nearby residents. It's certainly less terrifying to those of us in the cabin of the aircraft.
