Thoughtful Americans React to Gays and Lesbians Getting Married

"Those poor souls. Haven't they suffered enough?"

Your Say

I have no opinion on Gay marriage. Who am I to say that two homosexual men or women can't have the opportunity to ruin a perfectly good friendship.

So, what are the rules of marriage now? Can I marry myself? Really, I am the only one I love. Why shouldn't my relationship with myself be recognized? And the wedding will be a great opportunity to wear a white tuxedo. How awesome is that!

Damn, what is a self-divorce going to look like...

I suspect that after a relatively small wave of weddings, the idea will suddenly become much less interesting to them. Whaddya wanna bet?

I think it's increasingly evident that the point of the marriage equality has never been marriage or even equality.

This latest front of the progressive movement has two major goals: the continuing fundamental transformation of the United States from a federal republic into a European-style social democracy and the social balkanization of our society along religious, generational and racial lines. The fundamental transformation requires that the existing social norms be marginalized or destroyed, which will then allow subversion or perversion of more and more of what we knew as the framework of our American culture.

A vicious circle if one ever existed. I'm not sure if we've moved beyond the point of no return in this cyclical pattern of dissolution.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a wave of room mates and such marrying. Its a decent savings on insurance, tax benefits, etc.

And while the number of marriages will peak (a tiny peak) then decline rapidly... that won't be the end of it. Then will come the condemnation of churches for daring to not "marry" two men.

I welcome them to their new-found status.
That includes divorce court and all the fun involved therein.

Gay Midol? That will raise your voice a couple of octaves overnight.

Heard of GUG? Now, meat MUG (Married Until Graduation). A great way to dodge the whole dating/mating dance ritual in college.

"Gay Midol" is apparently PC slang for Methamphetamine.

All this will not end well.

Gay used to describe a particular form of happiness.

Curious how few words like this we have. I'm in favor of reclaiming it.

Jeder hat etwas zu teilen, irregardless ihres Lebens Erfahrungen oder wo sie derzeit in Bezug auf die Frage positioniert.
