The Japanese are world leaders when it comes to weird-ass snacks as a trip to the oriental grocery will demonstrate. My fav is deep-fried squid chips - the salty-tasting snack that is both crunchy and chewy!

There's a pellet in the top that you push in to make it fizz. I've had 'em... Delicious!

Octopus doesn't have any flavor, its like calamari. It tastes like what you fry it in, basically, with the texture of rubber.
Brits have some bizarre snacks too. They take their "crisps" very seriously, with potato chips flavored like marmite yeast, haggis and cracked pepper, Ham and cranberries, worchester sauce, butter and mint, and roast beef with beer.
