Once Upon a Time Nancy Pelosi was "Miss Lube Rack" [Bumped]

aaaaluberack.jpg

MISS LUBE RACK aka  Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was Miss Lube Rack 1959 From 2007 to 2011 she was third in line for the presidency in the event of the deaths of both the president and vice-president. But 48 years earlier she wasn'€™t no third or second but came first. Life Magazine photo caption: Miss Nancy D'Alesandro, Miss Lube Rack 1959, aka member of Congress and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi at age 19. --- KA-CHING!

Your Say

Now she doesn't even bother to use lube first.

Posted by: Potsie at May 10, 2013 2:02 PM

Get the fuck outta here.

I've seen that photo a hundred times and never connected it to Nancy Pelosi.

Posted by: Rob De Witt at May 10, 2013 2:25 PM

And it has been straight downhill since then.

Posted by: Fat Man at May 10, 2013 3:16 PM

The Miss Lube Rack in the photo is MUCH too good looking to have been Nancy Pelosi. She more likely is the mother or grandmother of the T-Mobile Girl, Carly Foulkes, if a wild guess by me is correct.

Not Nancy Pelosi. I believe Snopes has debunked this one.

Posted by: BlogDog at May 10, 2013 4:15 PM

So Artie what's your beef with Gerard? Did the precedent that he set keep you off the gay porn sites?

Posted by: bill at May 10, 2013 4:20 PM

Here's the Snopes article:

Check out the picture of San Fran Nan 's family at bottom. They look like a Sicilian Addams family

Spoilsports.

Maybe we can just forward to today and give Pelosi the title of Miss Unlubed Lack.

Posted by: vanderleun at May 10, 2013 7:01 PM

So, are those the Pep Boys?

Posted by: ed in texas at May 10, 2013 9:34 PM

File under "too good to check".

Posted by: Dave G at May 10, 2013 10:47 PM

I tried to zoom in on Pelosi's picture and it crashed my iPad's browser… Twice.

It's an omen.

Posted by: Fred at May 11, 2013 12:05 AM

On the other hand, she DID make he cover of both Crackwhore Magazine and The Lesbian Assworship Quarterly.

Posted by: El Gordo at May 11, 2013 4:36 AM

Really, Arthur? You're getting your knickers in a twist over what Vanderleun did and said twelve years ago? As if this was a big secret that he used to work for Penthouse? It's not like he's never mentioned it here at American Digest.

Anyway, who gives a flip?? Either the man speaks to the true here and now, or he doesn't. And if you find that he doesn't, kindly go fuck yourself and allow the rest of us to enjoy the content.

Posted by: Julie at May 11, 2013 7:03 AM

I don't think that I EVER want to cross Julie.

OTOH, I like her spunk.

Posted by: leelu at May 11, 2013 8:59 AM

Putting "kindly" in front of an invitation to engage in self-intercourse is the kind of touch that makes this a class joint.

No sarc.

"Anyway, who gives a flip?? Either the man speaks to the true here and now, or he doesn't. And if you find that he doesn't, kindly go fuck yourself and allow the rest of us to enjoy the content."

Enjoy away. I am endlessly entertained by American Digest.

The combination of pornographer/60's 'radical' meets Norman Rockwell by way of the 101st Keyboarders Brigade is vastly amusing.

Posted by: Anonymous at May 11, 2013 9:34 AM

Hey anonymous, a little less sneering would serve you well. Why turn people you don't know into cardboard cutouts? Gerard had an epiphany after 9/11 like many real people did. We realize that our freedoms are fragile and threatened by third world Barbarians and hip sneering nihilists at home as well.
Your 101st Keyboarders Brigade remark is demeaning to those here who served in war. I did, how about you smart guy?

Posted by: bill at May 11, 2013 10:07 AM

I'm not worried about Gerard. I doubt there is anything you could say about him that would bother him, and clearly he is familiar with his own past.

I am disgusted by you. Your behavior is revolting. You hope that by dredging up a man's past, the people whose respect he has earned in the present will turn on him. You may not have demanded a stoning, but you clearly hope that someone else - some intolerant, moralistic rethuglican, perhaps - would. You actually, stupidly, impugn his faith on a post about Ascension Thursday, as though to suggest that a man who once worked for Penthouse could not possibly be working his way toward redemption. As though Christ cared only for the perfect. As though someone such as he is not worthy to speak of the sacred.

I am not worried about Gerard.

If you have the slightest shred of a conscience, the merest inkling of human decency, you should be so ashamed of yourself that being stoned would feel like a mercy.

Posted by: Julie at May 11, 2013 4:32 PM

OMG! Gerard worked in PORN!?!?!?! WHY THAT CHANGES ABSOLUTELY...

nothing. Nothing at all.

Posted by: pdwalker at May 13, 2013 2:14 AM

D'Alessandro (sp?) is Nancy Peolosi's maiden name. Why are people saying the girl in the pic is not her? Pelosi is not an ugly woman, just a crazy and malicious one. It may indeed turn out that it is a different "D'Alesandro/D'Alessandro" in that photo, but Pelosi would have been a very attractive 19-year-old.

Posted by: Don Rodrigo at May 15, 2013 8:35 AM

Looks like a very young Nancy Pelosi (D'Alessandro) to me. The D'Alessandro's were a Maryland political dynasty, and utterly corrupt to boot.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.
