The Short Answer

I was once told by a "€œgun safety"€ advocate back in the Nineties that he favored total civilian firearms confiscation.

Only the military and police should have weapons he averred and what did I think about that?  I began to give him a reasoned answer and he cut me off with an abrupt, "Give me the short answer." I thought for a moment and said, "If you try to take our firearms we will kill you."€ -- Tyrants beware. 4th Generation Warfare: How the next civil war will be fought.

Your Say

The people that won't call a Senator or speak up at a union meeting are going to shoot a cop?

You will fight about half as well as you practice. If you practice acceptance and hiding you will be like the Jews in Shindler's List at the train station denying to the last moment that you are being sent to your death.

The problem with the whole civil war thing is that its not laid down on geographic boundaries. Every state, every major population area is dominated by at least one city that's hard left. They control manufacturing, imports, laws, arms storage, transportation, communications, national guard, etc. Yes, they need the food, but they outnumber rural people and have the means to get the food. It wouldn't be a matter of x states going up against y states. it would be a matter of rural areas, out manned and choked off by trade embargos, fighting against urban areas. Not a pretty concept.

And civil war is always, always, horrific.

The fight is coming to a town near you whether it's well-defined, contained, convenient, on-time, or like any other. Nothing but pushback stops the bullies. Conservatives keep deciding today is not the day and this is not the fight to be fought. That decision. daily and repeatedly, means the pushback, if it ever happens, must be more violent and more comprehensive that it would be if they pushbacked today on smaller issues. Deciding not to resist means having to become like animals later. It isn't necessary but it is what happens when we do nothing.

Who here would rather stack sandbags and apply a tournequet to your kid's leg than protest at a gov't office? If I am wrong what will stop them, a logical argument or an election? We are going the way of the Euro conservatives, quiet and compliant.

If the balloon ever does go up, steer clear of these ex Constitutional Militia guys. In the Nineties, half of them turned out to be Federal Informants, including one fellow who is quoted prominently in the essay.

"Still, if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves. " Churchill
