Contrary to Obama, the Terror War Has Barely Begun

Arab governments are less states than hotels, where the proprietor rents out rooms without asking too many questions about what happens inside the rooms.

It is possible to twist the proprietor's arm to kick down the doors when the behavior of the guests becomes to troublesome. Now many of the states are gone. There is no-one to lean on. There are no cooperative state intelligence services to control their own unruly elements and do our dirty work. -- Spengler サ

Your Say

Spengler is a very smart man and his evidence for his thesis is compelling. What he doesn't do is propose a strategy going forward other than to get ready for a long slog. This country doesn't do long slogs very well. Yes, we managed to last through the Cold War, which was a long slog. But we're not the country we were when Reagan proposed the "We win, they lose" strategy. We need a strategy that has some chance of being carried out. Does anyone know what it is?

I have an uncontrollable urge to open a bank account somewhere in Downey, California, for some reason.
