The Great DHS Ammunition Stockpile Myth

request-bullets-social-safety.jpg

MYTH: The government is purchasing 1.6 billion rounds to cause shortages on the civilian market.
FACT: Actually, the total number of rounds purchased from late 2011 to 2013 is less than 800 million rounds over five years. Conspiracy theorists have overestimated the round counts by at least 800 million rounds. -- BREITBART

Oh, so it's only 800,000,000 rounds. That's fine then. Carry on.

Good news. Perhaps it is also a myth that the Department of Education, among others, now has SWAT teams, or that the police have become militarized, or that armored cars are being provided for them, or that there will be thousand of drones in American skies soon, and that Obama will not deliver on his promise to have civilian forces the equal of military forces. If I have done nothing wrong, I will have nothing to worry about.

Or maybe not. It will be safer to get with the program than to just do nothing wrong.
