Stephen Hawking lays out case for Big Bang without God

AKA "Man with Obvious Grudge Speaks Out" At one point, he quipped, “What was God doing before the divine creation? Was he preparing hell for people who asked such questions?”

Your Say

Don't forget, that 'body' in the wheelchair is just a sock puppet. It now evokes laughter and nothing else.

I thought Hawking was supposed to be real smart. Doesn't he understand that the beginning is, well, you know- the beginning? There is no "before", young Luke.

Whenever he wanders away from his area of expertise -- cosmology -- Hawking is a stupid bore.

Really hard to understand the simmering rage with these militant atheists. Don't want to believe? Fine, don't believe, leave the rest of us alone.

Hell will not be the same for everyone.
Jesus said "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you."

Stephen Hawking, science fiction writer

and

Stephen Hawking Should Stick to Physics:

Unfortunately, Dr. Hawking is at it again. And by "it," I mean bestowing upon us his rather bizarre thoughts on everything under (or above) the sun. His latest installment comes in an interview with TIME magazine, in which he provides yet more thoughts on God, death, and consciousness--three subjects of which he has absolutely no expertise.

He doesn't get out much.

Hawking has been trying this for years, and its always ended up being silly and absurd. He's trying desperately to find a way that something can come from nothing and give it enough scientific sounding jargon that it becomes acceptable despite being a brutal violation of common sense and basic scientific endeavor.

I have no doubt the man is quite intelligent. He's just a fool when he gets off his speciality. Stick to physics, sir. Leave metaphysics to the experts.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Hawking,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Well, I consider the source. After all, the guy had to give up ballroom dancing rather early in life. I'm sure it's no fun being confined to a wheel chair most of your life, even if it does give you lots of time to devote to your craft. I'm guessing he's just real pissed at G-d.

What was God doing before His creation? He didn't have any "time" to do anything.

Until somewhat recently, Prof. HawkIng seemed to infer, through his work (written and spoken), that he was a believer. I attribute the change in his stated beliefs to environment. Specifically, I blame his loss of faith on the self-described "intellectuals" that he is surrounded with. (Is Leonard Mlodinow one of your readers, Gerard?). Maybe it is true that if you hear something repeated often enough, that you begin to believe that it is true. No matter what the cause, it is truly a great loss for a man lose his faith, especially one in Prof. Hawking's position. Personally, I am angered by the Left, and saddened that they have worn him down. Like not being able to see the forest for the trees, Prof. Hawking studies light every day, but has lost sight of the greatest source of light, even though it surrounds him constantly.

I feel sorry for Hawking. He is trying so hard to prove something and if he ever does convince himself he will still be a very unhappy man. For his sake I hope he can find peace.

They run along with bounce around these folks combined with shoes and boots even today appear really good. I really do feel they are often worth the cost.
