Just Suppose

Suppose Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, and the Middle East were not separable problems,

but working in concert,  diplomatically supported by China and Russia to wear down the United States? Then it would be a global problem requiring -- gasp -- a global strategy. -- Belmont Club » The Problem With Drones

Your Say

What's this global solution crap? It's us vs them and that doesn't sound global since Europe will hide in a closet and shit themselves.

Wretchard's point is that the Russians and Chinese are stirring the pot. They're trying to egg the Islamists on to wear us down and remove us as an obstacle to their ends. Which ends are: To be able to treat other countries as the Mafia does. That is, shake them down with pretty much impunity.

One then asks, what happens when we are neutered and the Islamists are getting their way? China and Russia, unlike us, will not treat the Islamists like Dresden China. They know that taking control of the oil sheikdoms and thereby cutting off the money to Islamists and their madrassas will pretty much end the game of terror.

What about North Korea and Pakistan? China could crush the Norks any day they want to. (Right now they are useful pawns.) Pakistan has the bomb, but can they deliver it? Russia and China, with the U.S. out of the way, would make short work of Pakistan. Then, like Mafia families, they will divide up their "neighborhoods."

Wretchard's take may be wrong, but I see it as more likely than not. And, of course, Obama seems either to be in on the game or completely clueless. That's always the question: Is Obama a knave or a fool? Whichever, he has us on the slippery slope to being neutered.

BJ, I am pleased to know that you don't agree with me about much. It assures me that I'm probably on the right track. Thanks.

Whatever the Chinese and Russians are doing or not doing, they don't have to worry much about the U.S.

I see the Navy is eliminating one Air Group and putting two more on minimum training status. The Glorious Imperial Legions are nearly tapped out. And this is only the beginning.
