"Aspiring Rapper"... wow, I haven't read that phrase in a while. It used to be the south Florida media would use "aspiring rapper" instead of "young troubled African-American male."

In California "turning his life around" has achieved cliche status even among the newspaper commentariat.
The most popular euphemism-of-choice at the Daily Mail is "demographic," as in "this demographic has taken over the population of our most crime-ridden etcetc."
There was a time when this sort of language was characterized as "Wouldn't say shit if she had a mouthful."
