"I feel the earth move under my feet!"

Heavyset woman falls through Upper East Side sidewalk: The 31-year-old Queens woman was huddled up against the wall of Atomic Wings at the Blue Room Grill
on the corner of East 60th Street and Second Avenue, seeking shelter from the rain while waiting for a bus, when the sidewalk below her gave way around 9:15 p.m., witnesses said. “The woman was enormous. She had to be more than 300 pounds,” said Daniel Crumity. The woman fell straight through the concrete into an area below that appeared to lead to the restaurant’s basement, witnesses added. FDNY Fire Chief Thomas Jemmott said the woman had to be pulled up in “high-angle rescue unit” resembling a crane with cargo netting.

Your Say

Dignity is doubtful but you can bet your behind she came up holding that bag of wings.

Imagine the damage she'd do by boarding the bus. Might even tip it over.

And even better, and with the full picture - including a normal-sized woman for scale:

She could even tip over Guam.

Wow Rob, is also pretty damn tall.

Ok, she's WAY over 300lbs., probably well over 400 as well. I know a woman who once weighed more than 400 lbs (now down to around 200, thanks to nothing but a disciplined diet and plenty of exercise) who looked more svelte than this when she was at her heaviest.

Did the impact of her fall cause an extinction event among the rats and roaches in said basement?

In New York, the rats and roaches have been around so long, they're celebrities.
