We can thank George Bush for eliminating the 100 watt bulb and for pushing an agenda that moves us away from incandescent bulbs and on to those CFLs.
Bush grew government, spent like crazy and took away freedoms... and for some reason people on this site seem to like him.

I purchased enough 60, 75 watt and three way bulbs to last me forever. All are heavy use and surge rated. If nothing else they'll be currency for when this economy goes tits up.

OK, so they emit crappy light and give you cancer. On the plus side, they each contain a tiny dollop of pleasant tasting, healthy mercury.
