Networks pay millions of dollars a year for the services of news anchors who can pretend that what they’re doing is anything other than a carnival sideshow to sell the advertiser’s product. Television news is entertainment to sell advertising.
I have said that for years, because I learned it from another director at a television station I worked at. (and no, FoxNews isn't any different.)
