Waiting for someone to come out of somewhere

de_la_tour_450.jpg

Stand up coming years
and escalation fears
Oh, yes we will find out
Well, like a withered stone
Fears will pierce your bones
You'll find out
Oh we're waiting, oh we're waiting
Oh yeah, oh yeah

Your Say

I am not familiar with the painting. Why does the young woman have a skull in her lap?

The young woman is Mary Magdalene, painted by the French artist Georges de la Tour (1593-1652). She is turned away from the viewer to emphasize her penitence for her past life. The skull represents her knowledge of her own mortality. Her meditative focus on the candle suggests her faith in Christ, the Light of the World.

Thank you, PA Cat.
Once you know the subject, you can figure out the symbols.

I would have guessed the woman drove her husband to suicide and is now contemplating her next move.
