Cherry Picking Leviticus

Leviticus 19 KJV - And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

Your Say

Two words, O Tattooed One:

New.
Covenant.

That is all.

Point of order, those cuttings (the tattoo) is not for the dead. They are just tattoos. They have nothing to do with the dead.

Also, the abomination of homosexuality is condemned in the New Testament as well as the Old. So if you want to ignore all the laws of the Old Testament, which I don't recommend, since Jesus didn't; homosexual behavior still gets you to hell.

The body is a temple and all that.

Seriously, tattoos are just part of the uniform the people who think they don't wear uniforms wear so they can recognize each other. You know, like long hair, motorcycles, or piercings. Everybody is wearing a uniform that belongs to a group, everybody.

In my youth in the 1950s, the nuns taught us that tatoos were forbidden, but didn't give us children the citation. Nowadays my Catholic neices and nephews sport tatoos, but then the old Catholic church and religion is dead.
