"Benghazi will either be swept under the rug or ignored."

I have come to think that that most people are not paying attention, and even if they were, they wouldn't care as long as they get their free contraception or whatever it is they're really interested in. A corrupt and/or distracted people gets a corrupt government." -- neo-neocon Petraeus resigns

Your Say

If 50 million voters were happy to ignore the last 4 years and several trillion wasted dollars why would they WANT to know about 4 dead Americans? Do we think Obama voters are using Obamaphones to discuss foreign policy?

Why should 50 million armed White men care what 50 million zeros think? That's the question our elected "leaders" need to ponder.

Our elected leaders have weighed that issue and found there is no need to ponder it. The idiot masses do not need to know.

A few weeks ago when there was a flurry of reports the CIA called for a stand down in Benghazi there was also talk that the admin. was throwing the CIA under the bus. Petraeus issued a statement that the CIA did no such thing. It was then bandied about that Petraeus was throwing the admin. under the bus. Now, at that time his indiscretions were known to the admin. but not generally. Was he threatened with release of the info if he didn't take a fall? Did he fall on his own sword instead? Rep. Peter King insists testimony from Deputy Dir. CIA won't be enough and states he hopes they won't have to subpoena a four star general and former director of the CIA. There's simultaneous talk of the admin. invoking executive privilege effectively squashing testimony from the Dep. Dir. But, this won't fly for a former Director. Has Petraeus freed himself from the calumny in order to reveal damaging testimony? To put a finer point on it is hubris finally going to take its inevitable toll in an exquisite adjudication against the person we all know is responsible?

The Reuther Memorandum - Precusor to the Ideological Organizations Audit Project Created by President John F. Kennedy and Attorney General Robert Kennedy in 1961

The link probably doesn't work and I don't know how to make it work but a search on that article is worth the while.

In any case I padded our numbers a bit but when the day arrives armed men decide that enough is enough the essential American in the best of us will come out and as Tocqueville observed it's a terrible thing to behold. Those people who oppress and hate us scare the hell out of me. Once again I have the opportunity to thank God for the brains He gave me and the heritage. I know I'm not alone and that makes all the difference.
