BJ, there are more than a few reasons for referring to the donks as the Democrat Party.
1) Republicans are registered members of the Republican Party. Conversely, the Republican Party is made of up Republicans. If that sentence is true, then would not the Democratic Party be made up of Democratics instead of Democrats?
2) Did you observe much in the way of democracy at the Democrat National Convention? The motion to reinsert God and Israel back into the platform was defeated by democratic vote, yet the motion was declared as passed. Does that sound very democratic to you? The party is not democratic, therefore, many refuse to mislabel it as a Democratic Party.
I am sure you can find other reasons if you are truly interested.

"Get with the Libertarian/TEA Party part of America." OK if it's to help them aggregate enough smarts to really take over the GOP. But don't cast your vote for one of them unless they are polling decently. Miniscule protest votes don't affect anything.
