Life Begins Where It Always Has Begun. At the Beginning

aaembryo.jpg

The life of a human being begins at conception, when the union of gametes brings into being a new organism –the embryo–
that is both functionally and genetically complete and distinct. The embryo is a living member of the species Homo sapiens–a human being in the earliest stage of his or her natural development. The life of a human being begins at conception, when the union of gametes brings into being a new organism–the embryo–that is both functionally and genetically complete and distinct. The embryo is a living member of the species Homo sapiens–a human being in the earliest stage of his or her natural development. For confirmation of these biological facts, the place to look is not the Bible or the Catechism, but rather any modern work of human embryology or developmental biology. -- Robert P. Your Say

When you consider all the miscarriages, and all the spontaneous abortions, and all the still births that occur one can only conclude that God is the greatest baby killer of them all.

You want to kill your inconvenient children? Do it! The future belongs to those who show up, cherished by their parents who cared for them and raised them right.

Didn't slaveholders claim the right to kill their property? What do we think about slaveholders today?

There are so many couples waiting to adopt, especially adopt a baby, why not let the baby live? Maybe one of the 40 million abortions stopped the next Albert Einstein or cancer researcher?

Once you find out you are pregnant, it is always very, very inconvenient. Even when you plan for the baby. A couple of my family members waited until the time was JUST right for them to have more children, when they had more money, a better career, a larger home. They thought they could control the calendar, and their bodies have reminded them that they don't. Their inconvenient child has grown up and flown the coop.

Scott M - It's equally likely that one of those 40 million stopped the next Hitler, Chairman Mao, Pol Pot, Mohammed or Napoleon. That argument simply doesn't wash.

To Alan Kellogg--I am an atheist, but even I know that God is not "the greatest babykiller." Spontaneous abortions occur when there is a genetic deficiency in the embryo. The spontaneous abortion is nature's way of indicating a mistake, a misfortune, an incorrectness, an unviable being. Women often don't even recognize that they have experienced a spontaneous abortion because what occurs is simply a lot of bleeding, which women assume is just a somewhat late, heavy period. It is only when the woman experiences subsequent pain and/or continued excessive bleeding and goes to a doctor that she finds out she has had a spontaneous abortion.

Some people don't seem to care about convenience or lack of funds or any kind of family planning. When I was looking for work at one of the temp agencies there was a sign in English and Spanish telling people that this was a workplace and if the baby started crying they would have to take it outside.
It was strange seeing people looking for work coming in with strollers.

The beauty of the pro-life point is you don't have to guess about the future career of the fetus, guess about the magic moment when it becomes human, or guess about how much pain it may notice while it's being torn or burned. You just have to avoid killing it.

Most people don't do much of historical significance but they still are entitled to live. We have future parents willing to assume the burden of raising a child if we can just avoid killing it for a few months.
