Heaven Can't Wait

"I know that many of my peers hold as I myself did to the theory that the brain, and in particular the cortex, generates consciousness
and that we live in a universe devoid of any kind of emotion, much less the unconditional love that I now know God and the universe have toward us. But that belief, that theory, now lies broken at our feet. What happened to me destroyed it." -- Afterlife exists says top brain surgeon - Telegraph

Your Say

God's love is most certainly not unconditional. His love may be infinite, but it is not unconditional. There's actually a Book and a Son that pretty clearly define the condititions.

Many problems associated with Christianity today originate with the fact Christians have embraced this fallacy.

The fallacy, edaddy, is that you think you found conditions.

flyoverpilgrim: In one example, John 15:10, Jesus said "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love." It would seem that God placed conditions on His love toward Christ which Christ then transferred to us a condition of His love toward us.

How are these not conditions? More, how does God's love being conditional diminish His Nature? Conditional love does not diminish the goodness of God or man.

If the scripture is divinely inspired to communicate His will to man, and if a will implies obedience to it, then obedience to a will can ONLY exist if there are conditions. For instance, you cannot break a law (the condition) if the law does not exist.
