Chicago public reacts to Chick-fil-A controversy

People who buck the traffic jams (you should have seen them) just to stand in line for 30 minutes to get a chicken sandwich are people who are going to vote in November." --Sense of Events: Heh! Boycott backfire.

Your Say

I guess "Twinkletoes" Emmanuel doesn't know what Chicago values are after all.

Some marketing guru should estimate the $millions$ in free advertizing Chick-fil-A got out of the NYT, CNN, MSNBC, and their ilk from the CEO making that statement. Their P&L will reflect the revenues. Bet he would do it again in a NY minute.

went to one today

SRO, parking lot - drive-thru - inside at 11 am !

staff: friendly, efficient, sharp
food: real piece of chicken, w/pickles
service: remarkably fast for the 90 minutes I sat
customers : no Eejots, slobs, Obwana T-shirts

an unalloyed AFE [Asshole Free Zone]

Bill H you are spot-on; they just got tens or hundreds of thousands of loyal new customers, and incredible free marketing

Backfire indeed for the Crowd Fascinated with the Lowermost Bowel

Other fast food chains pronouncing their Christian sympathies in 3...2...1...well, maybe not. That would come off as kind of tacky, or insincere.

Still, this whole episode was good for a horselaugh. Dear gay people, if you ask for tolerance, I'll tolerate you. If you demand meek submission, then you haven't thought this all the way through.

I'm not even being fair to gay people when I say that, anyway, am I? This was more a case of a bunch of wardheelers trolling for support and donations, wasn't it?

What is the difference between the person saying "I don't support gay marriage" and the person saying "I support gay marriage"? Nothing, both are some asshole with a need to tell you an opinion you don't care about.

Okay, the person telling you they support is a holier than thou do good self centered wants to feel good about himself asshole

On Chik Fil A:

Folks, you want to drive the man out of business the best way to do it is to do chicken better than he does.

Speaking of assholes with the need to tell others an opinion no one cares about: physician, heal thyself.

Sheeple. You don't realize the boycott was a success! Did the boycotters show up? No they did not. Success. You just aren't paying attention.

One thing we ought to keep in mind--this is just beginning. Chick-Fil-A is now going to be targeted by the left. Time to consider what to do if, for instance, Occupy decides to start committing property crimes at the stores, and whether simply calling the police will be sufficient response.

All very well to show up with Mom and Grandma and the kids and laugh about the boycott, but what will you do when violence starts going down? It will start happening, we're talking about Leftists here, don't forget.

Chick-Fil-A was began being targeted by the left more than 18 months ago. This is just the first time we have pushed back.

Nah, this was just Chicago values. The ward-heeler made his typical "offer" with open hand, and was swiftly rebuffed by those who hold fast to their Christian and civil values. So the corrupt spurned alderman had to follow through on his threat, lest he be considered a craven fool by the rest of his ilk. Even if he loses this time, everybody else now knows that Chicago aldermen will follow through with their threats.

Chicago, you can't collapse into ruin fast enough.
