Trash Talk
It kind of makes sense, the more people consume (and thus produce to meet demand), the more trash is generated. Look at the end line. Either something very unusual is happening, or we're not getting, shall we say, the whole picture from the Obama administration. Hence the contention that government spending should not be included in the GDP, if you want an accurate appraisal of a nation's economic health. (Don't try telling that to Paul Krugman. He won a Nobel prize, you know.)
