"You can't trust the GOP "

You can't trust the GOP to do the smart thing. You can't trust the GOP to be tactical or strategic.
You must interpret any delay in fighting and any excuse for picking another fight as a sellout. If your GOP member has a reputation for winning fights, then give him the benefit of the doubt. If your member doesn't have that reputation you must view them as a sellout until proven otherwise. You can't allow the awful truth of this bad situation keep you from understanding how bloody awful things are becoming. False optimism is killing us as much as irrational belief in hope and change. What are the facts before your eyes? The GOP won't fight, won't communicate, and now we see again they won't change. Anyone telling you to wait until after the election is telling you they think you are stupid enough to fall for the usual tactic. The GOP has had the advantage for 2 years and what have they forced on Obama? -- ScottM in Side-Lines: Re: The Marching Morons

Your Say

"The Marching Morons" indeed. First, how do you convince yourself that a small majority in the House, and nothing else, is "The Advantage"? Second, what kind of bubble is he living in that his response is to attack the Republicans, and leave the Democrats in peace? Funny how the "both sides are corrupt" refrain always seems to leave the Democrats in power....

The GOP has had a majority in The House since the seating of the members elected in the Nov 2010 elections. A suitably motivated majority in The House could shut the government down until they extract their pound of flesh from Obama and the minority any time they chose. They have repeatedly NOT used their majority power and they have repeatedly "compromised" with the commielibs such that all the DNC has to do to achieve movement in their direction is nothing. Exhibit A is the "compromise" on the debt limit increase. The GOP agreed that if the DNC and GOP could not reach agreement then drastic cuts would be imposed automatically on the Dept of Defense and some domestic spending.

I'm not suggesting the Democrats be left in power. My desire is the Dems be in jail or held under water until they change their mind. My warning about the GOP is a warning to stop expecting the GOP to advance our goals. They have proven for decades they will never act conservatively if their is another option. I'm asking TEA Party members and supporters to take over the GOP so we can have at least one Constitutional and conservative party.

Yes, government shutdowns have worked so well in the past. Sigh.
