"It’s the rare father-child relationship that’s entirely conflict-free."

But for the vast majority, love is almost always present, even though at times it can be hard to express or to perceive. It can take a child a very long time to see it or feel it; but that'€™s part of what growing up is all about. And "growing up"€ can go on even in adulthood, or old age. --neo-neocon

Your Say

Any 'father' or parent that doesn't beat the snot out of said kid will probably win the Swell Poobah of 'Parent of the Universe'.

I was never able to sit down and have a reconciliation with my father. He was way to cranky for that sort of thing. It was only years later that I realized he had gotten back at me. He died at 71, and left me to take care of my mother for the next 20 years. I got to find out that she was a psychotic bitch with a bad temper whose favorite revenge on him and her children was to spend money, and lots of it.

The scary thing is that Hillary Clinton looks more and more like her.
