Faint Hope As Change Is for the Worse in Emanuel's Chicago

Rate of Killings Rises 38 Percent in Chicago in ’12: Mr. Emanuel listed safer streets among his top three priorities when he became mayor a year ago, but Chicago, the nation’s third-largest city, is now testing that promise.
Homicides are up by 38 percent from a year ago, and shootings have increased as well, even as killings have held steady or dropped in New York, Los Angeles and some other cities. As of June 17, 240 people had been killed here this year, mostly in shootings, 66 more deaths than occurred in the same period in 2011.

Chicago is one of the few cities left in the country where you can pull a gun and shoot at somebody with very little expectation that someone else will also pull a gun and shoot back. Elsewhere in the country, the armed citizenry are lowering crime rates by changing that expectation.

How hard would it be to just say it: murder in Chicago or anywhere else of black people, by black people, and for black people, shall not perish from the earth. But it never got completely out of hand until white social engineers began ruling America fifty years ago. The hanging of a few thousand very special Caucasians would make life surprisingly good.
