End the War

"Some on the right are up in arms about the 300 or so Mexicans killed by Fast and Furious. I guess they have forgotten the 50,000 Mexicans killed in the last 5 years by supporters of Drug Prohibition. Roughly 150 times as many dead. If Fast and Furious is a horrible crime what is support for Prohibition?" -- Classical Values サ Motes And Beams [<-- Source of quoted statement.]

Your Say

Cute but off base. F&F directly and deliberately put guns in the hands of brutal murderers then wiped their hands and hoped for violence.

People killing over drugs has nothing to do with deliberately setting up the deaths - in fact, the entire blame goes on the people doing the killing since nobody forced or even enabled them to do so.

I get that you want to smoke weed without feeling guilty or worrying about the cops but be honest at least.

Did the AG of the US facilitate in those deaths? Did the AG lie about knowing about the operation that led to their deaths? Did the POTUS invoke executive authority to block information/evidence/possible knowledge of said deaths?

To equate deaths in Mexico, or anywhere else drugs are produced/smuggled, because we have laws against their usage (right or wrong) is the same as… well, blaming America for the guns that Mexicans smuggle into their third world shit hole of a country. Or better yet, blaming us when they die trying to cross our border.

Yeah, no responsibility on ole Poncho. America is to blame for everything Poncho does and doesn’t do. Including refried beans, WTF can’t fry ‘em right the first time?

I spit in the general direction of that moral equivalence.

Riddle me this, where would the drugs come from if drugs were legal? The Mexican Cartels would shrivel up and die?

Here, Taylor, just to make it clear to you I'll go back and put the quote marks in. Sorry to have left that out.

Tim, liquor is legal in most areas, not all. So tell me why 'shiners are still producing beaucoup hooch, some flavored and the best called 'Everclear'.

America is not to blame for the killings by cartel members. Americans are partially responsible; if no Americans bought illegal drugs then the problem would not exist. Whether said illegal drugs should be illegal in the first place is quite another matter.
