Barack Obama, & buck dancing Negro's

"Look at you. You're gonna go out this fall and you're gonna cast a vote to the tune of 90% for a guy that has shown you time after time that he doesn't care anything about you."

Your Say

Would it be terribly racist to say that Obama is a one-note Sambo? Oh, it is? Gee. I almost feel bad for saying that.

A friend sent me this link http://www.amnation.com/vfr/archives/022591.html today, which consists of Lawrence Auster's response to another of michael's screeds, this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdxQbBk4huA

Auster is happy to leave it that the differences between races extend to intelligence, and presumably morality, and my friend tends to get stirred up in that direction as well, I think.

And here's my response to the both of 'em:

Our responses to this are different, for sure. I've encountered this guy 5723michael's stuff before, and it hit me the same way: Where have all these guys gone? (and of course I've got the same answers you do, that they have been systematically bred out of the gene pool by the most cynical attack on a culture the world has ever seen. See below.)

The point is that I've known black guys like him since my childhood, and in fact, as I've written on the old WashReb, many of them took a fatherless boy under their wing and taught me how to have self-respect. I've had black friends, black co-workers, black girlfriends, black roommates - I dig black people, and I recognize that we're very different, too. And so do they, believe me. The pure fact of the matter is that there are plenty of intelligent black people, and whether there's a statistical basis for believing that there are lesser or greater concentrations of intelligence, or decency, or rhythm or any other damned thing in any race is just too depressing to contemplate.

What is to be addressed is exactly what he's on about, which boils down to WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? Somebody whose name I can never keep straight (although I remember it as Daniel Patrick Moynihan's work, and that's probably wrong) wrote an absolutely pitch-perfect indictment of Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty way back in the '70s, making the indisputable-at-this-juncture point that the result, and arguably the intent, of Johnson's Great Society initiatives was the creation of a permanent underclass.

And here we are now. This crap that 5723michael is so pissed about is exactly the way I see the situation, and his stuff rings like a bell. But making any response to this situation as being about race, instead of recognizing the well-nigh-demonic nature of the politicos that engineered it, is losing the battle by falling into their frame of reference. The race hatred, the entitlement mind-set that exacerbates every difficulty on the path of a man trying to see the situation clear - all that shit was designed to do just what it's doing, and now that it's an election year You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet.

I'll tell you the conclusion I came to years ago about the people who raised me - who were vicious, and all women: I just can't afford to hate 'em. And that goes for every idiot I've had to contend with. Most importantly, that's for my own welfare, and not anybody else's. The health of my own soul, and heart and liver and the whole shebang, is totally dependent on my actively letting go of my well-deserved rage. If I die angry, they win.

It ain't about black people and white people. It is about the kind of asshole whose greatest fulfillment is in seeing other people get hurt in shit he stirred up on purpose, and I am his implacable enemy - but I won't waste my blood pressure hating him, because that means I'm living like he does. And I'm way too smart for that.
