The wierd thing is that the official color of Netherlands is orange. That's their red white and blue, its the national color. And their flag has no orange in it.
I know a lot of Dutch people and none of them can explain it.

Similar to the Italians actually. Their national flag is green, white, and red but their national colour is a light blue - because the House of Savoy, signature colour - light blue, was their last royal family.

There is no such thing as an official Dutch national colour. The orange is used by our national sport teams because of the relationship with the House of Orange. In fact, the flag shown is the flag of Luxemburg because of the lighter shade of blue. The Dutch national flag has a darker shade of blue.

Well, lets put it this way: when the Dutch thought their towns were liberated in Operation Market Garden, the hung orange flags out.
