What is unclear about "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image"?

Barack-Obama-American-Flag.jpg

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:4-6)

Veterans Outraged Over American Flag With Obama Image

Your Say

I didn't think that images were allowed for Muslims.

The audacity of stupidity.

That kind of crap might rally the dog pack to Alpha. It just pisses off the wolverines.

On the upside, it is always good to know precisely who these people are---the good Democrats who have no idea what the Flag Code says, or why it matters the our veterans---or why it matters to any of us.

They were all out of temple columns when they went to the prop store.

I'm with the veterans. Who would think this was alright? OTOH Who thought all those halos were— what? clever? ennobling? I notice that they are back, along with the "fainters".

So here's a question. Is this to be filed under "Talk this up non-stop, Republicans, or Obama deserves to be re-elected and you deserve an ass-kicking"...or..."Shut your mouth, stay away from distractions like this, and stick to what matters."

My tentative theory is: Americans do care, by and large, about the country and her heritage, and our vets deserve some vigilance from the rest of us against this kind of disrespect. So talk it up. But -- gas/oil/energy first. And, I'm open to the idea that I might be too eager to see Obama's narcissism exposed; I've met my share of people who'd like their own visages woven into the flag, or flying above it. My experience with them says: I wouldn't be comfortable with O's leadership if I agreed with Him on each & every issue, I don't think this personality type is right for the office. Yes, I think He's got mental issues that need to be addressed. No, I'm not kidding.

It's not as if this is unusual or unexpected. Democrats had the same hero worship of FDR and JFK. Nothing to see here: moveon.org.

Seriously, has it occurred to anyone that the Obama flag was probably initially made as a joke?

That someone sent it to the Democrats in that Florida town and the idiots ran it up the flagpole is a riot. Not a issue.

My friend volunteers his time to an organization that properly disposes US Flags that have been desecrated. He considers it an honor to serve.

Democrat idiots or not, flag etiquette is an important issue to a certain segment of our society.

Just like the Obama coins and the Obama comemmorative plates, the Obama flag was made in China. The joke won't arrive until somebody realizes that the Obama Presidential Library is going to look like a flea market stall...
