Another reason why I don't argue with leftistsis that I have only to mentally travel back to my own hellseein' daze, and imagine how I would have reacted if a so-called conservative had presumed to instruct me about anything. I was 100% unreceptive, and would use the occasion merely to enlist them into my persecutory fantasy world. You argue with the commie-libs, not to change their mind but to inspire others. You show the others around the argument that there are actual reasonable points in opposition to the Utopian fetishes of the commie-libs. You show the commie-libs they will meet resistance wherever they open their pie-hole. It's like responding to the knock on the front door in the middle of the afternoon. Whether the "knocker" really is looking for a lost dog or not, you are showing him the "knockee" is home. The knocker is just looking for a safe place to break in. Make him move elsewhere. Never let a commie-lib go unchallenged anywhere. You can start nice, but escalate quickly to put them on defense. "Why are you pushing a failed 19th Century economic model that has, and is failing, all around the world?"
You have to practice arguing, so start small and bring friends. Read and study and prepare. Daily I still her callers to conservative radio claim to have listened for years and yet they can't argue about fundamental issues on their own. "Rush, I love ya man. I've listened to you for 15 years. I was just wondering if you think this Obama guy would bring us together and fix the economy?" That was an actual call before the 2008 election. If you are listening to talk radio as background noise you are wasting your time. Listen for content. Listen to left and right and you won't be surprised by the Left. They are using a very simple playbook and they make the same arguments on most topics. The Left tries to intimidate others with their aura of superiority. It's a myth and easy to puncture. It's very disturbing when you preempt the argument they were going to make. Listen to NPR for 30 minutes and you will likely hear ALL of the intellectual content behind any commie-lib you argue with.

As is written, never argue with an idiot: they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Socialist Democrats and the Marxist media have been making idiots of the American public for half a century with propaganda tv and Leftist movies. They are really few in number, but have enormous influence over the truly stupid, wholly ignorant, and fully entitled. Plus, they cheat to win. Fight like your life depends on it. It may, sooner than you think.
