Breitbart

"The media is dominated by people who disagree with American exceptionalism--the academic Marxist crowd's worldview--
and somebody needed to start taking it on directly. The Right has focused its energy and money on the political process, and it just kind of shrugged off culture. But culture is everything in this country. Once you get down to the political level, you've already lost the battle. --What Andrew Breitbart Got About the Internet - Rebecca J. Rosen - Technology - The Atlantic

Your Say

Isn't that the truth. We lost when teachers were given draft deferments. Should be the other way round. Only vets should teach boys.

While I agree with the culture idea, the truth is that Atlantic story is basically "Breitbart didn't care about facts, truth, and content, he sold excitement, controversy, and personality." Which is not just a foul, hateful lie, but the opposite: what the left sells is empty spectacle. What Breitbart brought was fact and truth the left wanted silenced and their hate was palpable.

Breitbart was an anomaly. Most of us don't have the luxury of taking some of the risks he did. Most of us would look like street-corner evangalists if we attempted what he did. We need more people from a similar cultural background, with similar credentials and skills.. who have the balls to lead this cultural revolution. His Big legacy may be established well enough to have the impact needed, but... that's stil to be seen. There was only one Andrew Breitbart. Even the void he leaves is more influential than most in middle America. He understood the cruel nature of the established Left. Middle Americans are deer in headlights. We need an legion of Breitbarts. He certainly inspires but we also need funding and organization.
