Why Aren't There Many Brown Oscars?

Black achievement in less glamorous Oscar categories has been more modest,
but that doesn’t raise much interest. For example, after blacks garnered seven Best Score nominations from 1961-1987, none has been nominated in almost a quarter-century. (That might imply that black musical competence has been declining in the hip-hop age, but nobody wants to talk about that.) -- The Great Hollywood Brownout - Taki's Magazine

Your Say

Rap and Hip Hop are the suicide of the distinctive artistic achievement of Negroes in America*, which was the music of Armstrong and Ellington, Jazz, the distinctive American idiom. Now everything is dust and ashes. Not one American black in a hundred under the age of 50 has any idea about the glorious tradition they dumped in favor of "gangstas", crack, and bling.

Of course, people who have put their fates in the hands of the Democrat party, despite its historic record of Jim Crow and the KKK, are capable of such suicidal actions.

*The term African American is a deflection, Obama is one and he is not related to any of them. Further, they have no portion in Africa, the first thing an African would ask is what tribe?, but they have no idea, they are a pure creation of America, from a hundred tribes in Africa and lots of European ancestry as well. I have read the term "Atlantic Creole", that would be better, but it is not distinctive enough.
