"n modern Western societies, both ‘the Left’ and ‘the Right’ consist of liberals, only they come in two flavours: radical and less radical. "

Triumphant liberalism is made possible by conservatism, while triumphant conservatism leads eventually to liberalism.
Anyone dreaming of ‘taking back his country’ by supporting the conservative movement, and baffled by its inability to stop the march of liberalism, has yet to understand the nature of his cause. The brutal truth: he is wasting his time.... I describe eight salient traits that define conservatism, explain the long-term pattern of conservative defeats, and show how liberalism and conservatism are complementary and mutually reinforcing partners, rather than contrasting enemies. --Why Conservatives Always Lose

Bilge. Complete confusion on the definition of terms and illogic on top of nonsense. Waste of time to read.

"Ending liberalism requires an end to conservatism. We should never call ourselves conservatives."
.
Yea. Very good article about what it is to be 'conservative'. The seeds of our defeat lies in the very name 'conservative'. We must act and change - but not react. hmmmm.....
.
Now if we could pick and choose which Liberal Governemnt Social Program we would pay for and which we choose to invest in, the tide would turn on the liberals and the country would probably stop the government deficit spending. Sadly, they share the same bank account we do.
.
Perhaps its time for us to bury the word conservative... hmmmm... it is a label... and the liberals love to label us too....
.
" Art, in the broadest possible sense, gives expression to values, ideals, and sentiments that a people share and feel in the core of their beings, but which often cannot be articulated in words. "
.
If this is the case; then the ideals, values and sentiments of this epoch in Western Civilization is reflected in the Dadaist Art movement which started circa 100 years ago (the Zeitgeist of 'anything goes') and was a probable byproduct of the nihilistic philosphers of the 1800's (like Nietsche and certain aspects of Secular Humanism)
.
...A new Art Paradigm to start a new political reality ... hmmm.... The trouble is that, like all true Art, a new Art Movement is spontaneous and cannot be planned.
.
It just happens.
.
nice Article, Gerard. It definately goes to where 'the sidewalk ends'. Some thing to think about.

Perhaps the real battle is not the 'ying and yang' of Liberalism and Conservatism but the competeing zetigeists of the Dadaist/nihilist cancer vs Traditionalist Western Civilizations values.
.
Maybe the real battle is the Metaphysical realm of Mystics, Philosophers and Theologians (and from that does everything else flow)
