You Say You Want a Revolution

American-revolution.jpg

Revolutions begin with an open contempt for and anger at the existing order. The left knows that.
It is why it fears talk radio and populism more than it fears the latest set of dapper gatekeepers we send to the Senate. The contempt and anger are here, the more they go public, the more the power of the left is shaken. And the next step is to expand the cultural war to a specific disrespect and hostility for the values and sacred cows of the left. Then to challenge their institutions and regulations. And then real political change can begin with candidates who are revolutionaries because they believe it, or because they are operating under a new paradigm that is outside the left's manufactured consensus. Most of the elements are already in place. --Daniel Greenfield

Your Say

Yup! We don't need elections; we need hangings.

Limbaugh once said he keep a couple of liberals around to educate the young on their errors.

That's the same as keeping a syphilitic whore around to teach sex ed.

The Ruling Class has little to fear from conservatives. Many of them are rushing to anoint Romney after spending the last few years infuriated at RINOs. Maybe when the last conservative is ordered to get on the cattle car to the gulag he will then recognize it's time to act, but I doubt it. Most conservatives are undercover agents and take more pride in how compliant they can be than in how jealously they guard anyone's liberty. "we will impress our jailors by how well we clean up after our selves." or "we were going to have a revolution but we couldn't schedule enough garbage trucks to be on-site so we just didn't bother."

If someone can ever explain why conservatives take so much pride in their trash dropping habits I'd love to hear it. Commie-libs take over by smashing stuff and frightening people. One side has marched through society and occupied almost everything. The other side has retreated from almost everywhere and waits for something big enough to act. You're not earning respect by playing by the rules you are being taken advantage of. Don't be proud of being a good loser, change your tactics. They don't fear you because the last thing conservatives would do is make even their enemy feel uncomfortable.

Obama didn't get elected by smashing stuff up and frightening people.

Geesh, Scott. Even my small kids were called racists by other small kids because I openly supported Obama's opponent. Should I have smashed things with my McCain/Palin yard sign to make a point?

I think Mitt Romney will be free to govern far more to the right now that he is free to operate "under a new paradigm that is outside the left's manufactured consensus."

The Obama spell has been broken. The only supporters Obama has left are entitlement junkies and, well, junkies. Romney may not excite the voters, but neither will Obama this time around.

I always believed a controversial conservative candidate would only excite the opposition vote. But I think the 2010 midterm elections prove you wrong, Scott. Both houses of NC state legislature went Repub for the first time since reconstruction.

Conservatism is a diverse group of passionate voters, torn between fiscal concerns and social concerns. But we've distinguished ourselves by taking back the House of Representatives in 2010, effectively forcing Obama's hand.

I see a Romney who can and will appeal to conservatives. Jobs are all that matter at this point, even more than the wars Ron Paul seems to use as his only strength. Saving the private sector is all that matters. If you want to smash stuff, do it the way the Tea Party did it in 2010.

Red, Romney is a New England liberal. As of today, Gingrich has either tied or pulled ahead of Romney here in SC. Perry quit and tossed this support to 'Grinch.

Now I'm happy Romney gets it in the tukis; I'm not happy with 'Grinch winning. He's not much different than the other rugs.

Give Paul a chance, he's the antithesis on Obama. Remember, you cannot get everything in one candidate.

Ron Paul scares the Republican base, not the Democrat base. I'm no expert, but this kind of seems like the backwards thing to do when trying to beat Obama. People are dismayed with Obama but they are NOT going to vote for Ron Paul in enough numbers to get him nominated and if his ego gets the best of him and he runs third party, Obama wins. Romney's "New England liberalism" is probably a good thing this go 'round.

With all due respect: if Mitt Romney is the best America can do, we deserve whatever we get. Bring on the killer asteroid.
